Ellie Veldhuizen
Co-Founder & Center Director
For Ellie, it was a lot of the little moments of saying “yes” to God that brought her to serving full-time in Santa Cruz. The first day she dreamed of forming Anchor of Hope with Lily, she knew she was all in because of the love God gave her for Bolivia. Ellie even had the shape of the country tattooed on her skin only a month prior! She originally thought she could help start the non-profit and continue supporting the work of the ministry state-side. She never believed that one day God would call her to move to Bolivia full-time. It has now been over two years, and Ellie is more excited than ever to be a part of the growing ministry. Ellie is currently working on obtaining her Bachelors in Social Work in 2023. She has over three years of experience in administrative and educational work and a year of experience serving as a caregiver in Bolivia with Casa de Esperanza. Ellie co-founded the onsite Street Ministry program for AOH and is currently serving as Center Director, managing the day-to-day of the Anchor Community Center in Santa Cruz.
